History of Gehl Brand

Above on the page there are several PDF Manuals with Wiring Diagrams for GEHL Loaders.

GEHL is part of the MANITOU group of companies, a large and renowned player in the telescopic handler and lifting equipment market.

The GBL-818S machine, which appeared on the market, has more than 50 years of production history and is one of the most successful and modified backhoe loaders in the world market.

Many years ago, the production of these machines began at the English plant in the city of Caventry and was known under the name FERMEC.

After some time, the plant was taken over by the TEREX corporation, but the production of machines continued under both brands.

During this period, since 2002, the current GEHL GBL loaders were widely known as TEREX 820 SX860 SX / ELITE970 SX / ELITE produced in white.

They successfully competed with well-known models such as 3CX3CX SUPER4CX from JCB and were much more affordable, more energy-efficient and no less durable.

The FERMEC model has become so successful that it has many derivatives that have taken its basic design.

After some time of production in England, the FERMEC / TEREX plant built its branch in India, where the production of backhoe loaders based on the FERMEC machine continued.

Now this plant is owned by the well-known MANITOU holding, where, under its quality control under the name GEHL, the production of an improved machine from FERMEC / TEREX continues.
