The Italian manufacturer of tractors and combines Arbos (brand and plant), well known in Europe more than a quarter of a century ago, gradually fell into decay.

And in the 2000s, the Chinese saw this as an opportunity to enter the European market, since tractors and combines made in China did not pass according to European standards, and the attitude towards them was initially biased.

So the Chinese concern Lovol Heavy Industry Ltd in 2011 acquired Arbos and then several other manufacturers.

The development of tractors (according to the official version) was carried out in the Italian design bureau, they were produced at a plant in Italy.

That is, they were completely European tractors. And the fact that the owner of the production is Chinese Lovol followed only from the accounting documents.

However, in 2017, the Chinese concern Tianjin Lovol Heavy Industry Co, Ltd, after a series of restructuring, was absorbed by the Chinese company Weichai Power, which was not impressed by the European direction of agricultural machinery: it did not express interest in further investing in Italian brands and factories.

Quarantine also added fuel to the fire: the factories were stopped, the workers were on the verge of dismissal, which attracted the close attention of the trade unions and the Ministry of Economic Development of Italy.

As a result, in November 2020, the Modena prosecutor's office opened a bankruptcy case for Arbos.

Now the production of tractors of the European brand has been moved to China - the owner's homeland.
