Renault's agricultural division was founded in 1898 by Louis Renault and his brothers and sold in 2008 to Claas.
After the end of the WW1, Renault used its experience in the production of armored tanks for development in the field of agricultural machinery.
The legendary Renault PE tractor differed favorably from its predecessors in reduced weight and increased efficiency, and was exactly the tractor that medium-sized French farms needed.
This model was taken out of production in 1939.
Renault PE had a capacity of 10-20 horsepower, weighed only 1,300 kilograms and contained a 2.1-liter gasoline engine 259-KZ with four cylinders.
The cylinder head here was made removable, which significantly reduced fuel consumption compared to the HO series of tractors.
That is why this option is considered revolutionary in the history of tractor production.
A total of 1,840 Renault PE tractors were produced.
